About
Nostr RS Relay is a Nostr relay written in Rust. Relays are the servers of the Nostr network: they accept signed events from clients, store them, and serve them to anyone who subscribes. Running one puts you on the infrastructure side of the protocol rather than only the client side.
There are good reasons to want your own. Public relays come and go, rate-limit, or quietly stop carrying your notes, and any relay you post through sees which keys you follow and when you are online. Publishing to a relay you operate means at least one place always has your history, under your control.
It implements the relay protocol thoroughly — the core event model, contact lists, DNS-based identifier verification, event deletion, and the relay information document clients use to discover capabilities — and persists data in SQLite. Being written in Rust keeps it light enough to sit on your MyNode alongside everything else, and it pairs directly with the Nostr clients here.
