BTCPay Server

BTCPay Server is a self-hosted Bitcoin payment processor. It lets a business accept bitcoin directly from customers with no payment provider in the middle, no processing fees beyond the network fee itself, and no KYC paperwork. Payments settle straight into a wallet you control, because the private keys never leave your device.

Everything needed to start taking payments ships in the box. Run a point-of-sale screen on a tablet at a physical counter, add a pay button or tipping widget to a website, email a payment link to a client anywhere in the world, or launch a crowdfunding campaign with a public funding goal. Plugins extend it further for specific shops and workflows.

Invoicing and bookkeeping are built in as well. Generate invoices, get notified the moment one is paid, watch for partial or late payments, and export records in several formats when it is time to reconcile the books. Integrations exist for common e-commerce platforms including WooCommerce, Shopify, and Magento.

On-chain and Lightning payments are both supported, and this is where running it on a MyNode pays off: BTCPay Server talks to your own Bitcoin Core and LND, so it validates incoming payments against your own copy of the blockchain instead of trusting somebody else's. Tor support and a full-node-backed wallet with hardware wallet integration round it out.

It suits anyone who sells something and wants to be paid in bitcoin without an intermediary — a shop, a freelancer invoicing clients, a nonprofit taking donations, or a creator collecting tips. The software is free and built entirely by volunteer contributors.
